    Ilmarinen invests in new climate-focused exchange-traded funds
    Ilmarinen is an anchor investor in new climate-focused iShares ETFs in the USA and Japan, launched by the US asset management company BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK).

    Ilmarinen’s Interim Report 1 January to 31 March 2023: Positive return on investments, premiums written grew and cost-effectiveness improved
    The return on Ilmarinen’s investment portfolio was +2.2 (-2.2) per cent, i.e. EUR 1.3 billion, as a result of rising stock prices. The market value of investments grew to EUR 57.5 (56.3) billion. The long-term average return on investments from 1997 onwards was 5.8 per cent. This corresponds to an annual real return of 3.8 per cent.

    The climate focused equity ETF, Xtrackers MSCI USA Climate Action Equity ETF, was listed on the NYSE Arca stock exchange in New York on April 4. Ilmarinen, the largest investors of the ETF, invested approximately 1,86 billion euros on the ETF’s first day of trading makes it the largest ETF launch of all time in the U.S.
